With support from the President’s Challenge, we embarked on a transformative journey.
Over the past two years, under the exceptional guidance of Joko Mangkreng Performing Art
and ArtSee, our boys have not only learned the intricate art of playing Gamelan but have
also participated in a Music mentoring program. This program connected them to positive
role models, reinforcing the importance of discipline, teamwork, and self-expression through
music.
“A Symphony of Friendship” a gamelan showcase, marked the culmination of the ArtSee
music mentoring program, which began in June 2023 which was held on Friday, 13
December 13 at SOTA Concert Hall.
The concert featured our boys performing alongside DMPA mentors, showcasing their
acquired musical skills and personal growth. The program demonstrated the impact of
music mentorship on building self-confidence and highlighting the importance of community
partnership.
Senior Parliamentary Secretary Eric Chua graced the event as Guest of Honour, delivering a
speech that highlighted the importance of mentoring and community partnership.
The evening also served as an occasion to express gratitude to valued stakeholders who
have supported the Home.
